A sense of belonging makes us feel like there is community behind us.It can be bought by the strategies to foster a sense of belonging and community during learning makes us feel relaxed , receptive and motivated. Not like other non-academic and contextual factors such as integrity has a huge impact during learning. Research revealed that a sense of belonging is a core to success. Teachers need to pay attention and make that our classroom is inclusive in order to support learning.80% of those who surveyed said that they thought a sense of belonging in their classrooms. MAKE INTRODUCTION IMMEDIATELY AND GET STARTED ON THE RIGHT FOOT:
Teachers should get to know the student's names as soon possible. Do an ice breaker if you have trouble memorizing. An ice breaker can help by providing a personal narrative for each other which can help you match names to faces.
PRIORITIZE HIGH-QUALITY TEACHER-STUDENT RELATIONSHIPS:
Teachers should schedule one-to-one meeting with students during class hours in school and get to know them and allow them space to discuss their need and individual questions.
CREATE A SUPPORTIVE AND CARING LEARNING ENVIRONMENT:
Model vulnerability and resilience.Talking about their own stories could help create a bond between the student and the teacher.
BY BEING SENSITIVE TO STUDENT'S NEEDS AND EMOTIONS:
Not all the students learn in the same way. For some students it may take time to learn to speak up in class in a group discussion-find other ways so that they can participate in dicourse such as via blog or via journaling.
BY BEING INVOLVED IN STUDENT'S ACTIVITIES:
This ain't necessarily knowing about every detail of their weekend but practising this with his pedagogy could help in gaining trust in techers. Teachers should consider assigning an essay centered on their experiences and opinions.
